Review of Young Frankenstein (1974) by Ifiok O — 29 May 2010
This is arguably the strongest film Mel Brooks has made, when considering how well crafted it looks compared to his other great movies. Even though this is a parody of the Mary Shelley novel and the famous Universal Monster films from years ago, it still manages to come off as an homage to those great horror classics.
Gene Wilder is pretty much fantastic as Dr. Frankenstein (pronounced Frahn-ken-steen), and Peter Boyle as the Creature has plenty of funny moments, especially the famous scene with Madeline Khan's character.
It's a must see comedy.
