Review of Young Frankenstein (1974) by Ryan E — 24 Sep 2010
I miss old comedies like Young Frankenstein. Back then, writers actually had to try to write a comedy that appealed to everyone, children, teenagers and adults. The writers were also smarter because, instead of just having dirty jokes and swearing the whole time, they had to slip all of the sexual innuendos and other adult oriented jokes into the film so children won't pick up on it but the adults do.
Young Frankenstein is hilarious but it relies too heavily on physical comedy instead having more funny dialogue, there's not enough of it, most of it came from the supporting cast not Gene Wilder, the star of the movie.
