Review of Young Frankenstein (1974) by Elysian M — 26 May 2011
Hilarious! Mart Feldman was a revelation in this film. The scene where they're looking at decapitated heads in the laboratory is probably one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen. Gene Wilder was also good especially at the start when he was giving a speech to his students and stabbed himself in the thigh.
I kind of regret watching this not having seen any of the Frankenstien movies from the 30's as I'm sure I would have appreciated the humour even more. Nevertheless, the film was still funny enough to watch.
Good performance from Peter Boyle too, his expressions when he's with the blind hermit were priceless. Only just read that Gene Hackman played the blind man I didn't even notice while watching.
