Review of Young Frankenstein (1974) by Francis L — 12 Feb 2012
Another classic. Again, I can't really add anything in a review that hasn't already been written, so I'll point out some of my favorite moments. First, I'll mention that the inclusion of Marty Feldman is pure genius.
I've always loved that googly-eyed maniac, and practically every appearance he makes draws my immediate attention. Second, the writing is spot-on, even including the horrible pun "Pardon me boy.
..is this the Transylvania Station?"..."Da, da...track twenty-nine...oh, can I give you a shine?". The interplay between Wilder and Feldman is just fantastic. And, the homage to the "Frankenstein" Universal series is stunning (to the point where I think this actually out-does the outstanding "The Bride of Frankentstein".
