Review of Young Frankenstein (1974) by Gregg D — 19 Aug 2012
I saw this movie (August 18, 2012). It is still one of my all time favorites!
What follows is my review of the movie Young Frankenstein, the first time I saw it in October of 2003.
Young Frankenstein is one of the most perfect comedy movies I have ever seen! It is superbly cast starring:
Gene Wilder as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein is masterful in his comic timing and delivery of his lines. The classroom scene is one of the best shticks I?ve seen in a long time. Just a side note: When I was in grade school, I played Dr. Frankenstein in a play where I called my creation by his nicknames of, sweetie pie and snookums.
There were two other reasons why it was perfect. It was my first time seeing it and at a brand new theater too, the AFI Silver in Silver Spring Maryland.
Fast Forward today 5/19/08. I watched some of the DVD's Special Features. They include:
A Wonderful 30-Minute Documentary on the Making of Young Frankenstein.
Very Amusing Mexican Interviews with Gene, Cloris and Marty.
Wonderful black and white stills from the movie.
