This is the best Mel Brooks movie and one of the best comedies of my generation. There are so many memorable lines and scenes. The cast is packed with talented comics and Mel Brooks' script makes the most of their talents.
It is predictable (when I first saw this movie I belted out the punch lines -- having seen some of Mel Brooks' earlier movies, you could guess at many of the best ones), but in this case, predictable is very funny.
