Review of Young Frankenstein (1974) by Ryan P — 08 Jan 2013
Having seen this for nth time, I've decided to place it in my top 10 favourites. The film has aged like wine, I enjoy it more with every repeat viewing. The colourful characters have almost become old friends of mine. Every performance is simply out of this world; from Gene Wilder's brilliant Dr. Frederick Frankenstein to Gene Hackman's excellent cameo as Harold, The Blind Man. Mel Brooks has done many parodies, but this is his masterpiece. I'm not sure if it's a film for everyone, but it's a film for me.
