Review of Young Frankenstein (1974) by Eric P — 26 Dec 2010
Nothing is more classic than this film. I think this was Mel Brooks at his very best, firing on all cylinders. As Dr. Frankenstein heads back to his grandfather's castle he gets mixed up in his work to reanimate life.
In it, he has two assistants: the bumbling I-Gore (played brilliantly by the great Marty Feldman) and one bombshell (flawlessly played by Teri Garr). The recent of the eccentrics are handled with tremendous comedic skill by the familiar Brooks troupe - Madeline Kahn and Cloris Leachman (who you can still see going strong in the very funny sitcom Raising Hope).
If you haven't seen this movie then you must hate movies. Or comedy, which is even worse.
