Review of Young Bess (1953) by José R — 20 Oct 2010
Not a extraordinary film, but much better than historical movies of those years... Jean Simmons gives a great performance, but Stewart Granger is not exactly the kind of actor needed for his role... The best performance though comes from the young Rex Thompson (only 9 y/o then) as Prince Edward.
Pity Deborah Kerr and Charles Laughton are almost not seen.
