Review of Young & Beautiful (2013) by Kay L — 15 May 2015
The lead character is almost an older Lolita: Playing a game she thinks she can win; playing a game her mother doesn't understand and using her beauty to control men.
It explores deeply the fact that some people can definitely separate love and sex, and profit from it. It also explores what happens when those who cannot make such a distinction are confronted with it in their own child.
A beautifully made French film, with a wonderful cameo from Charlotte Rampling at the end.
