Terrible and depressing. Mavis is a horrible and troubled person whom you develop no empathy for. How this is classified as a comedy is beyond me. See Bad Teacher instead. I wanted to like it...Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman and all, but no dice.
Patton Oswalt is its only saving grace.
