Charlize Theron immerses herself as a Young Adult author whose transition to adulthood proves anything but seamless. Label it what you will, a midlife crisis or a mental break, this layered masterpiece depicts a depressing story which contains no redemption.
Only refreshing honesty and dark humor are on offer here, in a character study for the ages. Genius at work. Proceed with caution, Young Adult is sharp enough to cause major damage.
