I expected a bit more from this Mackenize's movie. There are so good actors - Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, Emily Mortimer! The cream of British cinema! Their performances are pretty good.
But there lacks something! Those sex scenes could be really good. A bit exotic, slightly rough. And in the same time, very natural and realistic! But they aren't! That's the point. Like watching some "hidden camera" bad pornography.
I prefer appreciating the movie as an experiment! Just an art-house experiment of really good actors.
And McGregor shouldn't have got naked totally! That's too much! And it was the thing that shocked me!
Come on! If it is a drama, than it is a drama! If it a movie about sexual desire, than let it be so! But the director should realise what he's filming first!
The dramatic ending saves the movie.
McGregor's character who ruined to many lives goes away after the court ... and a "strange" movie converts into just "not bad".
