Review of You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010) by Eric G — 12 Apr 2011
Ah non!!!! Disappointing. I'm always looking forward to a new Woody Allen. In typical Allen fashion, this one revolves around couples and their relationships. And in Allen's world, like in the real world, they are always complicated.
They either turn out drama or comedies. This one doesn't really choose. A trademark of all his films is the witty and clever dialogues. Where are they?? It feels and sounds like a regular film. Quickly seen, quickly forgotten.
Naomi Watts, Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas and Freida Pinto are all good. But how far can they carry the film whn it's just ok? Let's wait for "Midnight in Paris" which he has just finished.
