Review of You Only Live Twice (2007) by Kenny C — 28 Apr 2011
Though not a monumental Bond film, a great Bond film. "You Only Live Twice" has 007 investigating the whereabouts of a stolen US space shuttle in Tokyo. The result: a well-paced mixture of martial arts, and classic Bond action and gadgetry.
The sincerely evil Blofeld, (this time played by Donald Pleasence), makes his first full appearance in this movie (a basis off of which Austin Powers' Dr. Evil was formed) and Connery as Bond is his usual suave, heroic self, but stepped up a notch perchance.
An incredibly well designed set is highlighted in the final sequences as SPECTRE's secret hideout in the cone of a dormant volcano.
