Review of You, Me and Dupree (2006) by Micke B — 05 Feb 2009
[font=Verdana]You, Me, And, Dupree was a run of the mill comedy with very few jokes in a script that was really pushing it. Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers) retained his normal, lovable moron role, with Kate Hudson (Almost Famous) as her normal cute self that everyone loves, and Matt Dillion (Crash) and Michael Douglas (Wall Street) as the bickering son in law and father.
The film was just very plain and nothing new or fresh really popped out of this boring comedy. The direction was borderline and it felt like the whole thing was put together last minute with little effort, such as it was just a fun thing for the actors and nothing more.
The bottom line is that if your girlfriend or wife wants to see this film, just see it to avoid the argument of ?we never do anything?, but other than that just go take a nap or do something construction with your time.
