Review of You Don't Know Jack (2010) by Kenneth L — 12 Jul 2010
You don't have to agree with (or even particularly care about) the political issues at the center of this film to appreciate it as the superb cinematic achievement it is, easily the best of director Barry Levinson's career.
The cast is excellent (who would expect any less from this line-up?), Al Pacino particularly disappears into one of his best roles. Adam Mazer's screenplay never lets the weighty themes get in the way of the characters and story, and then there's the excellent cinematography by Eigil Bryld.
A masterpiece, HBO once again proves themselves to not only be at the vanguard of television, but also film.
