Review of You Don't Know Jack (2010) by Matej S — 27 Apr 2011
Based on the true life story of Dr Jack Kevorkian, Al Pacino really becomes Dr Kevorkian.
Delving into the man behind the "Dr Death" moniker, it takes you through how the issue of euthansia, or "medically assisted suicides" became a hotly debated topic in the 80s and 90s.
A topic that still provokes much heated discussion, it is dealt with quite wel in this movie.
You cannot help but feel that Dr Kevorkian brought his own downfall upon himself, but you could laso see that he did what he did because he truly believed in helping those who came to him, and not because of a much touted "god complex".
What would you do if your loved one had a non curable, painfully terminal disease, which put them through significant pain and humiliation on a daily basis, with no end in sight??? Answer this honestly before point a finger at Dr Jack.
Highly recommended viewing for people on both sides of the argument.
