Review of You Don't Know Jack (2010) by Jessica D — 09 May 2011
Euthanasia is a very divisive subject and one everybody has an opinion about. You Don't Know Jack tries to humanize the conflict by going behind the scenes of one of its main proponents, Dr. Jack Kevorkian.
However, it's not so much concerned about providing an in-depth look into the pros and cons of the issue as it is giving us a glimpse at the man behind it, which it's obviously going to be one-sided in doing so.
With that said, Al Pacino is brilliant and deserving of the numerous awards he won for the role, with the rest of the cast holding strong as well. Being that I'm personally sympathetic to Dr. Jack's cause, I have little problem endorsing this film, and if it helps add something new to the discussion, all the more power to it.
