Review of You Don't Know Jack (2010) by Adam G — 14 Nov 2011
You Don't Know Jack has (with the exception of borrowing its title from that board game series) all the makings of a good film. A great director in Barry Levinson, a wonderful cast of characters brought to life by the likes of Al Pacino, John Goodman, Susan Sarandon and Danny Huston, and a script that's unafraid to see to let its main character fall if he needs to.
Jack was so in love with his cause that he got too caught up in "now", while neglecting "how", and it did him in. The film might've taken a little to much time in making this point, but it made it - and it's one you can't turn away from easily.
