Review of You Can't Take It with You (1938) by A R — 22 Jul 2007
I'm always a bit torn about Capra, since I find his moralizing sometimes too blatant. While the eccentricity veers towards calculation, there's a sweetness here that's difficult to resist. Honestly, I think Barrymore holds this together, which he should, since the character is sort of the moral anchor of the thing.
Worth watching.
