Review of You Can't Take It with You (1938) by April R — 28 Apr 2008
More of an unbiased four-star movie, really, but it gets the fifth based on: (1) The way James Stewart tells Jean Arthur he loves her, (2) The fact that I desperately wish I could be a "lily of the field", (3) The scene where Stewart describes how he & a friend would get so excited about something that "we would forget to sleep" (story of my life!), & finally (4) The fact that I am secretly a sentimental cornball romantic who eats this stuff up with a spoon.
And I totally dig Frank Capra.
