Review of You Can Count on Me (2000) by Jerilyn B — 19 Jun 2008
There aren't enough good movies about siblings out there, especially a brother and sister. I definitely felt a lot of realism while watching this movie. I completely bought Linney and Ruffalo as siblings.
Ruffalo is one of my favorite actors working today, and Linney is always reliable (unfortunately she only seems to really hit one note, but it's a pretty damn good note). I love the ending, it's a true character-driven ending.
There are no wild events to drive the action...everything is set up very realistically.
