Review of You Again (2010) by Zack J — 03 Jun 2011
"You Again" refers to arch nemeses in high schools who meet again at a wedding. Will they bury the hatchet in each other's back or try to forget their pain and look to the future? If you think this is funny or a good premise for a movie, then this one's for you.
Kristen Chenoweth as the wedding planner is the best cast member here since her scenes are few and filled with energy like dancing. Sigourney Weaver with her "Working Girl" bitchy attitude is mildly interesting but Jamie Lee Curtis is too earnest for broad comedy. None of the other actors are worth watching: Betty White is wasted with a few throwaway lines and Kristen Bell as the main character Marnie is annoying to the audience.
More of a chick movie but the end is a total copout. Who wouldn't harbor hurt at the way they were treated in High School during teen years? I'd prefer the characters talk about it while knocking back a few drinks instead of this unnecessary slapstick comedy which is painful to watch some times.
