Review of You Again (2010) by James H — 29 Oct 2011
"Two scoops of crazy with a side of coo-coo-ka-choo!".
Eight years after high school hell, a successful New York business woman-former Carrie-figure returns home for the weekend to reunite with her family for her brother's big wedding day. A little late to object, she relizes that her brother's fiance is actually her former bully and head cheerleader of the high school. Her nemesis may seemed to have changed into a precious angel but hints are given when they are alone about their high school past. The business woman feels that she must figure out what her true intentions are and decide weather or not to stop the wedding before it's too late. Tension escalates when the finance's aunt arrives and sees her mom as competition due to thier high school history..
I have to admit... this movie is TERRIBLE! Everyone's acting was hollow, the story was mostly predicatable, some of the plot felt a bit confusing and hippocritical, and there is an immense chance that this is probably forgetable in a year or so. This is exactly why it was amusing though. This is one of those so-bad-it's-good movies that are so painfully bad it actually amuses. It was cute and light hearted with the occasional actual humorous moment but overall it was a huge flop. None of the random cameos could save this even if Hallmark had it's hands on it and there would be a valid reason for the awkward sappiness.
