Review of You Again (2010) by David M — 21 Apr 2011
Marni was the high school freak. No one seemed to like her. She had braces, glasses, pimples, and zits. Altogether she looked really ugly. And then there was Joanna. She was the high school beauty. She was at the head of the popular crowd and made Marni's high school experience a living hell. Gail (Marni's mom) was at the head of the crowd during her time, and while she was there she wasn't a wonderful friend to her friend Ramona (Joanna's aunt).
All four of these girls are reconnecting for a wedding. Marni's brother (Will) is getting married to Joanna. Joanna sees Marni yet again but pretends not to notice her. Eventually the rivalry brakes up and what do we have? A drama, chick flick, and comedy all combined. The movie definitely had some laughs, but I think the story was cheesy. I just really didn't connect with it that much and that pulled a heavy weight. The movie was alright, but didn't keep me interested.
