Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Wilson S — 28 May 2008
Awesome movie, maybe Kurosawa's most purely enjoyable (next to Seven Samurai). Toshiro Mifune is the original cinematic badass, bringing unspeakable cool to his role of a wandering samurai who gets involved in the affairs of a war-torn town.
Both funny and thrilling, this is a great entertainment, one which has inspired many classic films (A Fistful of Dollars is a direct remake of this one).
