Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Rakesh B — 29 Sep 2008
I feel bad for not having watched this Kurosawa film sooner. Truly amazing. Mifune is far more subdued in this role than in any other I've seen so far, but he's got the energy of a caged lion that every so often is released to great effect.
Cinematographer Kazou Miyagawa really outdid himself again with Kurosawa. Excellent story, acting, directing, and photography. But what else would you expect from a Kurosawa film.
