Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Ut S — 20 Oct 2008
A great study in character development & analysis , this is a treat by Akira Kurosawa. The camera angles are acute as always by Kurosawa. The plot involves a samurai who drifts into a town torn apart by two rival factions. He comprehends the situation and realises that these factions can be easily manipulated.
The cinematography is brilliant & ToshirĂ´ Mifune gives a commendable performance in the role of a samurai. This multi-layered movie has a linear plot & provides a good material to study detailed character sketches .
