Going into this, I knew the plot, where it would lead and ultimately the ending. However, that in no way hindered my enjoyment of the film as a whole. Kurosawa and Mifune craft one of the greatest characters in all of the cinema with Yojimbo.

His nobility and pure morality are not only admirable but also enviable. He is the ultimate badass and a teddy bear at the same time in several scenes, and although I've seen it before in films Mifune sells it better than anyone.

The story itself has been done to death, but I completely give credit to Kurosawa for putting it together first. His direction in several scenes, coupled with some genius cinematography only add to the truly harmonious connection between the director and the star of this great film.
