Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Dan K — 29 Jun 2010
Kurosawa's original classic, it's good and everybody knows it. Ironically Akira Kurosawa based the cinematography of the film off of Western films that really inspired him, little did he know that his own film would inspire the classic Western, A Fistful of Dollars.
The cinematography is gorgeous the use of wide shots is to die for and as usual Toshiro Mifune is the man, his ability to put so much life and character into a protagonist with no name blows my mind.
