Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Alexander F — 15 May 2011
Toshiro Mifune didn't even have to have dialogue for his character to jump right off the screen. His presence alone said everything. The thing I didn't like was some of the music and comedic scenes.
The movie was the blockbuster of its time and Akira Kurosawa definitely influenced a lot of directors after him. This is a movie that focuses more on the story rather than action. I probably would have enjoyed it to its fullest if I didn't see all the rip-offs of this movie 1st.
