Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Alex H — 03 Dec 2012
Charisma is the name of the game and Toshiro Mifune and Tatsuya Nakadai rule the day. Yojimbo's an archetypal western-esque action comedy: a nameless and seemingly apathetic badass wanders into town, sees a situation to exploit for his amusement, and then proceeds to exploit it.
There are gloriously comic moments amidst the violence and the pacing is casual enough to let the attitude shine through.
