Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Juan Carlo V — 09 Feb 2013
This is awesome!!! The Bodyguard or "Yojimbo" is one or maybe( I am not a professional yet to confirm it.) the most influential film from the Master Kurosawa; Influential, because it has inspired so many spaghetti-western films and characters on other big film classics, including the actor Clint Eastwood on many of his western performances, that were inspired by the memorable character "Sanjuro".
More a western than a samurai film because of its incredible atmosphere and theme, "cool" battles, stunning performance by Toshiro Mifune (his most popular one, but not his best one) lots western archetypes, and one of the greatest and most thrilling soundtracks ever.
.. Yojimbo is a Masterwork, and really entertaining. One of the greatest films ever made.
