A thoroughly applaudable effort by Kurosawa creating a Japanese western. in many ways more believable and enjoyable than Fistful of Dollars, with Mifune in a near-flawless performance as the quick-thinking silent-type ronin who plays aggressive ignorance off itself to the point of annihilation.
masterfully original filmmaking with a spark of familiarity, an awesome classic and a top-form Eastern Western.
