Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Andrew M — 18 Feb 2010
After several failed attempts to watch "Seven Samurai", I stumbled upon this magnificent samurai flick. Yojimbo was the inspiration for Leone's "A fistfull of Dollars" which I find more enjoyable as a western fanatic, however that is not to say that "Yojimbo" is an inferior film.
Literally from the opening credit sequence, your mind is slowly shutting off all outside influences and sensations, and you are hooked into the atmosphere and the story. "Yojimbo" is a masterfully well made movie and despite its somewhat predictable plot, you'll love every minute of it.
