Review of Yojimbo (1961) by John-Daniel ~ — 12 Apr 2010
The quintesential Japanese period drama that nobody should ever forget. Not only did it inspire a couple great western remakes (Fistfull of Dollars and Last Man Standing), but endless varieties of like TV shows and movies can be traced back to either the background and setting of this film or to Mifune's taciturn, charismatic, badass character.
If you're new to Kurosawa films, by all means, start here!
