Wow! The movie that inspired "A Fist Full of Dollars" was my introduction to director Akira Kurosawa and the acting of the great Toshiro Mifune. Now, I plan to see many more. Kurosawa directs in a style that the fan of later westerns will immediately recognize.
Mifune is engaging as a shaggy ronin with a wry sense of humor who must face a classic assemblage of gangsters and lowlifes.
