Review of Yojimbo (1961) by C. B — 26 Mar 2011
Yojimbo is the kind of movie you pray for. It is the western John Ford always tried to make, but could never equal. There is no shortage of aspects to love about this film, from its cinematography, writing, acting, lighting, and even its dark comedy. Toshiro Mifune plays a once in a lifetime performance as his protagonist samurai, and Akira Kurosawa yet again delivers a classic.
