Review of Yojimbo (1961) by Trevor R — 09 Aug 2011
One of Kurosawa's many classic films, Yojimbo The Bodyguard follows Sanjuro, played wonderfully by Toshiro Mifune, as he plays both sides of a corrupt town against one another in order to save the townspeople caught in the middle.
Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars is a remake of Yojimbo. I wish I would've seen Yojimbo first because I knew what was going to happen throughout the course of the film on account of A Fistful of Dollars being a spaghetti western-themed clone.
In any case, I really dug the film.
