Review of Yogi Bear (2010) by Rabeka D — 14 May 2011
A lot more hype for a whole lotta little...story line definitely was scattered and disorganized...but to remake cartoons in real life no doubt was a challenge I give them their props on that one...but yeah I personally think the ranger is older from the cartoons and smarter not a wanna be Brendon Frazer young idiot, over acting kid (head ranger and should of been only ranger in my opinion).
..agree to disagree...I felt the story line was a little "furry vengeance" a little "yogi the bear" cartoon (not enough), and it also reminded me of "Beethoven" yeah the first one with lame goons who moved too slow I wonder how they got away hmm let's see oh yeah goons were too slow.
..even reminded me a little of "the princess bride" with Andre the Giant as the goon...anyways disappointed it should have been more ranger trying to stop yogi through out it...not two faced scam to set up failure and lose.
..to me yogi says it's gonna be tons of tricks by yogi to try and steal pic-a-nic baskets throughout not a omg I hope that never happens to our national forest who would even think of that? I sure hope no one would.
..though a script writer did...I had to give 3 stars ONLY BECAUSE Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake nailed the voices perfectly in my opinion...I know the industry of film making are running out of ideas for movies.
..but remaking something shouldn't have twists to them especially a classic like Yogi the bear...oh and fireworks and our national forest don't mix I sure hope they were ALL computerized...I nearly had a heart attack.
..yes I suffer from a mild case of OCD...sue me...better graphics than expected too...and cartoon meets real world actions were in sync most of the time if not then millisecond late but hardly noticeable.
..so if you are going expecting the cartoon battle for pic-a-nic basket don't bother watching it's not so much that it's more Yogi detox and forced recovery causes him to not think clearly and make bad choices and ruin everything which is sorta the cartoon but not with this twist.
