Review of Yogi Bear (2010) by Dave C — 19 Nov 2011

(2 Stars) I kind of knew what I was expecting when I got into Yogi Bear. It's not a movie that's aimed towards me, but still... It's got substandard greenscreen work, blatant 3D-isms, and obligatory kids movie humor involving pop music (in this film, it's Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back").

I know kids movies make money and run on nostalgia, but why Yogi Bear? He was considered old even when I was a kid. There's not much to say about the human characters and environmental message since they are all stock.

But to its credit, Yogi Bear is short, mostly harmless for the kids, not as annoying as Alvin and the Chipmunks, and not as embarrassing to watch as Furry Vengeance.
