If you were to ask me if Yes Man was any good, my answer would probably most likely be definitely maybe...as long as you are not over analyzing the film. Oh, and pay no attention to the lack of chemistry due to sheer awkwardness between Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel's characters. Normally the whole cute, shy, and awkward thing works for Deschanel however it is unfair and off-putting to put that up against Carey, especially in his more restricted state of character here. You can tell it kind of just makes him, uncomfortable. I won't get into the odd directorial decisions, made by Peyton Reed, that are consistently fluctuating the films sense of realism and simplicity.

To be honest the movie does go from stiff to flaccid pretty quick. I don't know if I made that subtle innuendo because of a particular scene in the film, but you get my point. Eventually it kicks in that this is just a charmingly suppressed version of Liar Liar (1997) with an equal or lesser amount of moments for Carrey to shine in. Enjoy!
