Review of Yellow Submarine (1968) by Devastator9 . — 02 Jun 2010
I'm not a humongous Beatles fan, but this recently-available-on-DVD animation encompasses everything that I do like about the band. I t appears as though it were made during the peak of their experimental psychadelic stage, and comes in waves.
..being very chipper and happy one moment, and incredibly creepy the next. The dialogue isn't pure gold, but there are enough puns and trippy quandaries to keep me more than happy. The bizarre visuals make the music even better.
The Blue Meanies are effectively disturbing as the villains, and appear to be a direct offense to Disney, as they wear caps resembling Goofy and Mickey Mouse ears. A movie that I plan on exposing my future children to.
