Review of Yellow Submarine (1968) by Undefined U — 13 Feb 2011
There aren't many films where the eye candy utterly overcompensates for any problems with story or structure, but this is the gold standard of eye candy. the visuals really wallow in the Peter Max 60's psychedelic style and are as bizarre as can be.
The plot such as it is serves mostly to shoe-horn in a maximum number of Beatles tunes, but a great many bits of incidental music are taken from instrumental breaks in Beatles tunes. Very silly, lots of wordplay, entirely fun.
