Review of Yellow Submarine (1968) by Kiki W — 29 Jul 2012
I have to admit that this movie is what really got me into listening to the Beatles. I love the animation style. Even though everyone seems to walk in a little bit of a strange way it's still wonderfully colorful and vibrant and all around creative.
There are, however, a lot of flashing lights so it may possibly give some people seizures (no joke). Most people say the story doesn't make sense but if you think about the time it was made (the 60's) you can kind of see how it's about oppression in a way and how music can set you free.
Just a personal thought on it. Quite a few funny moments in this, too. Something the whole family can enjoy if you're looking for a film to watch together.
