The Beatles: Yellow Submarine is a fascinating little time capsule of a movie, and not just an animated acid trip. It comes from a time when almost no musicians could have done what The Beatles were doing in those days.
They had dominated pretty much all media, and were high on experimentation in all areas. Nobody knew at the time when this film was released that they were on the verge of disbanding, but they were still more popular than ever and not much could have stopped this film's success.
All these years later, it's still a fun watch, especially for a young child. Great music and terrific animation.
