Review of Year One (2009) by William M — 30 Nov 2011
Although some of my family didn't like or get the humour of this film, I actually thought it funny. It was a good spoof I think of the time. And when I was watching this, I was thinking also of the movie "10,000 B.C." and how their treks were similar in a way, as when they first started off in the film, their tribes were both primitive, yet as they travelled further and further from their home land, the civilizations and lands that they met were more advanced in different ways from their original home land.
Additionally though, the supporting cast did provide a good portion of the laughs in this film, from Oliver Platt to David Cross to Harold Ramis and Hank Azaria. :) Though this movie isn't meant to be taken seriously, it does help if you go into it with a funny bone. If you get to see it, I hope you can enjoy it too.
