Review of Year One (2009) by Marc F — 07 Mar 2012
The movie is good at what it does, Slapstick comedy in a sketchy way with a general plot that doesn't take itself too seriously. I have to say that movies like these provide some much needed contrast to the more complex movies.
Sometimes you just wanna relax and watch two doofuses get into trouble and this movie delivers perfectly and unlike dumb and dumber or similar comedies the movie moves in it's own chilled pace and you don't feel like the characters are always in a hurry to get to the end, which I personally like.
The movie is about Zed and Oh two members of a village of hunter gatherer's they are forced to leave the village in the beginning of the movie and go on an adventure through some biblical stories that include Kane and Able, Abraham and Sodom & Gomorrah.
To the people who didn't like this I kindly advise you to develop a sense of humor :-).
If you enjoyed this movie and you're looking for something similar I recommend Monty Python's Life of Brian and History of the world.
