Review of Year of the Dragon (1985) by Enrico C — 05 Jan 2009
Micheal Cimino dealing with a bizarre detective story. Mickey Rourke stands alone against the whole chinese mafia, until the last, epic but under the lines, final duel with John Lone, on the undeground rails.
I got fascinated by this film, I think Cimino is one of the few directors that succesfully managed to renew Classicism in cinema, with courage and passion. His ability as a director can be found here everywhere, even in the most hard and dramatic situations he keeps his camera brilliant as a choreographer.
Wonderful.
